Homework
Homework is important! It provides practice for newly acquired skills. It helps develop organization and responsibility. It also extends classroom learning into the home setting and encourages family interaction.
Homework will be given Monday - Thursday. There will normally be at least 2 assignments.
* Read nightly for 20 minutes.
* Practice spelling words.
* Math homework that will review and reinforce the skills we covered that day.
Your child's spelling words will be coming home with them weekly for them to practice throughout the week.
Homework should also include working toward mastery of the math facts: addition, subtraction and multiplication. Practicing math facts at home is essential to passing timed tests!
Your third grader should be reading nightly!!!!
Homework should take no more than 3-=45 minutes to complete. If your child stayed focused and worked hard but is struggling or spending an inappropriate amount of time on the homework, please let me know. Homework should be a positive experience for everyone!
